Translation

In order to ensure the quality of the services rendered, the translator must have a good knowledge of the source and target languages and must always translate into his mother tongue.

Thus, our services mostly cover translation and proofreading of texts in the following language pairs:

Portuguese

A translation project implies respecting the client’s requirements to ensure the required quality and accuracy. The use of advanced information technology resources namely CAT tools, allows a thorough and effective terminological management in various subject areas and it is also a good option to optimize the translator’s work.

Whenever the specific content of a project requires research work, it is advisable to check online dictionaries or terminological databases to obtain a reliable result.

Proofreading

The linguistic verification and the quality control of a translation are essential to ensure the accuracy of specific terminology and the adaptation to the target audience, aimed at improving communication, rendering the text comprehensible and avoiding possible mistakes resulting from a misinterpretation of the original. Link in a translation work, the proofreader must be native in the target language.

A complete proofreading involves a thorough verification concerning spelling, grammar, vocabulary and style, respecting at all times the instructions sent by the client.

Support to writing and revision of texts

Localization

Language localization involves the translation of a product to different languages, but also a comprehensive study of the target culture, in order to correctly adapt the text to a country, a region or a group. In the present global context, this internationalization process includes the existence of differences in the various markets and recommends the adaptation of the product to the local needs.

Therefore, in general, the localization process is related to the cultural adaptation and the translation of software, video games, websites and others. The assistance of CAT tools is of great importance to the translation and subsequent integration work.

Interpreting

The Liaison Interpreting, in which the interpreter acts as an important link between people who wish to communicate verbally in different languages they do not master, is used for business involving meetings, visits to factories, interviews, but also for cultural events, fairs, tourism, among others. It is ideal for a restricted number of persons as it allows an informal communication between the counterparts and does not require any kind of technical equipment.

In order to make sure they understand each other it is very important that he interpreter has a good knowledge of the concerned domain and has all the necessary information to perform his task.
